While the US economy has struggled mightily over the past few years, the private for-profit school sector has flourished.  Why?  Well, while some folks claim otherwise, most of us believe that our business is countercyclical.  As the economy goes bad and unemployment rises, enrollments at our schools increase;  and, as long as our graduates can still find jobs, life is good.  This has been true historically and certainly has been true during the latest economic downturn.  But the recession never lasts and now we're hearing all sorts of predictions rel

As long as there have been admissions programs, there have been numerous “systems” put in place.  Simply add leads, work leads through system and PRESTO!...starts appear.
I have seen everything from 13 step systems to “matrix” approaches to working leads.  I’ve also seen no system, which is basically an approach that promotes professional visiting by representatives and then taking an order once the prospect makes up their mind.

Color Trends

The economy and consumers’ buying habits are always important. The general thinking is that the better the economic times, the more “color risk” consumers are willing to take; In periods of uncertainty, in contrast, people gravitate toward timeless neutrals.

For a High School Admissions Representative, the high schools are where you generate your leads, so it is the first step in building a successful operation for yourself. Amazingly, high school admissions representatives across the country seem quite content to walk into a high school classroom and wing it. If you had to give a speech tomorrow and the outcome of that speech determined whether or not you received $40,000, do you think you would spend some time practicing? Of course you would.

My wife's grandfather once gave us a cutout from The National Enquirer.  It is a picture of a blue dot (just a plain ol' blue dot about the size of a silver dollar).  The headline proclaims it is "A magic orb that has brought good luck to thousands, and it can work for you too!"  We kept it, still have it.  We figure we can use all the good luck we can get and besides, it came from The Enquirer, so it's credibility is beyond reproach.
